Some stories are imagined. Mine was lived.
I’m Kontina Vanessa Clark—author, Registered nurse, speaker, creative visionary, and founder of The Kovac Collective, where faith, healing, and purposeful living intersect.
For more than 26 years, I’ve served others as a registered nurse, walking with individuals and families through some of life’s most vulnerable moments. My heart for caring didn’t begin in healthcare, however. It began in ministry.
As the daughter of the late Pastor James E. Clark, I was raised in the church where faith, service, and God’s Word became the foundation of my life. Throughout the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of ministry roles, including media ministry, praise team, church secretary, executive administrative support, and church leadership as a board member. Those experiences taught me that every gift God gives is meant to serve others.
Long before publishing books, I was writing. As a high school student, my work appeared in literary magazines, and I was honored through writing competitions that recognized my love for storytelling. Even then, I discovered that words have the power to encourage, challenge, heal, and inspire.
Years later, after experiencing unimaginable personal loss—including the passing of my daughter, Breana, and my father, Pastor James E. Clark—writing became more than a creative outlet.
It became part of my healing.
Those seasons of grief deepened my faith, strengthened my dependence on God, and renewed my commitment to creating resources that help others heal, grow, and live with purpose. Every book I write is rooted in the belief that God meets us in every season and that healing and hope remain possible, even after life’s deepest heartbreaks.
Today, my work extends beyond books. Through The Kovac Collective, I create Christ-centered books, devotionals, journals, digital resources, podcasts, apparel, and transformational experiences designed to help people heal deeply, think biblically, and live courageously.
Whether you’re here to find encouragement, deepen your faith, strengthen your relationships, or simply discover your next great read, I’m honored you’ve stopped by.
My prayer is that every resource you encounter here points you closer to Christ—and reminds you that your story is still being written.
Welcome to The Kovac Collective. I’m grateful you’re here.
